Hannu Tuomainen
Is a director and screenwriter born in Finland in 1960. He lives in Somero with a wife and two children. In 1991, he graduated from the Faculty of Film and Television at the University of Art and Design in Helsinki with a diploma in directing and screenwriting. Later, he took up postgraduate studies in film production at the international production school EAVE, which he completed in 1994. In the 1990s, he made many short films both documentary and feature ones. Filmography: Neighbours (1988), Thema (1989), Balloon Traders (1990), Christmas Tree (1991), Scenery (1992), Worm King (1993), Night Shift (1994), For Your Dreams (1995). His One-Way Ticket to Mombasa (2002) is his full-length directing debut that caught the attention of the jury at the last year's International Young Audience Film Festival Ale Kino! in Poznań.
